  • Are cmv drivers required to be cpr certified?

    There is no regulatory requirement for commercial motor vehicle (CMV) drivers to obtain CPR certification.
  • Are cmv drivers who operate in interstate commerce required to have a medical certificate?

    A DOT medical certificate is mandatory for drivers operating certain types of vehicles in interstate commerce. This includes vehicles with a GVWR or GCWR of 10,001 pounds or more, vehicles designed to transport more than 15 passengers, vehicles carrying 9-15 passengers for direct compensation, and vehicles transporting hazardous materials requiring placards. However, operators of covered farm vehicles, as defined in §390.5, are exempt from this requirement.
  • Are government employees exempt from routine/yearly physical examinations?

    Transportation services provided by federal, state, or local government entities, or agencies established under approved interstate compacts, may be exempt from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs), including routine physical examinations, if the political entity chooses to exercise this exemption.
  • Are motor carriers legally obligated to provide air conditioning in commercial motor vehicles?

    The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) do not contain any specific provisions regarding the requirement for air conditioning in commercial motor vehicles.
